The Louisville Area YMCA is open on Sundays from Noon - 4 pm and is inviting everyone to stop in for plenty of fun things for members - family volleyball for families, teens and youths from 1 - 3 pm;  walking track and basketball in the gym and open swimming from 1 - 3 pm.  Not a member!  Contact the YMCA at 330 875-1611 for membership rates and info about their January membership special.

The College Club of Canton is offering a TUITION GRANT up to $1500 for the mature woman over 25 who needs one year or less to complete her bachelor's or master's college degree or licensed nurses who need an additional year or less for a degree.  Applications available at:   www.collegeclubofcanton.org and must be returned before March 1st deadline.

The next BROWN BAG LUNCH and PROGRAM at The Massillon Museum will be held on Tues. Jan. 27th from 12:10 - 12:50 pm.   Featuring Heather Haden with " SS GREAT EASTERN AND THE LAYING OF THE TRANSATLANTIC CABLE".  For more info, call 330 833-4061.

The Louisville Area YMCA is offering "CHOOSE to LOSE COMPETITION" March 5th - April 16th.   $ 45 fee for members ONLY.  Stop in today at the YMCA and register or call 330 875-1611 to place a required reservation by Feb. 28th deadline.

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum will hold its ANNUAL McKINLEY DAY CELEBRATION on Sat. Jan. 31st from 9 am -  4 pm.  Visitors can watch Civil War re-enactors, special shows in Discover World, enjoy an open hearth cooking demonstration, view various exhibits, tours, planetarium shows, lunch and a special 1 pm wreath-laying ceremony.   Call 330 455-7043 or visit:   www.mckinleymuseum.org for more details.

Sat. Jan. 31st is the 4th ANNUAL TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY at the Massillon Public Library.  The public is invited to visit anytime between 11 am and 3 pm with special activities with a Dr. Seuss theme for families to enjoy.  No registration required and for more info, call 330 832-5037.

St. George Romanian Orthodox Church located on 30th St. NW in Canton is sponsoring A TRADITIONAL ROMANIAN DINNER on Sun. Feb. 1st from 11:30 am - 2 pm.  $ 10 for adults;   kids from 5 - 10 - $ 5; and free for children 4 and under.   Carry-out meals will also be available.

The Church of Christ on California Ave. NE in Louisville will be hosting A CLOTHING GIVE AWAY on Monday, Feb. 2nd from 2 - 5 pm.   For directions and more info, call 330 875-1673. 

Mercy Heart Center will be offering a FREE HEART HEALTHY COOKING DEMONSTRATION - "LOVE YOUR HEART, EAT HEALTHY" on Wednesday, Feb. 4th.   Beginning at 12 noon, program will teach participants how to make healthier versions of several food and dessert items.  Reservations are required and to do so, call 330 489-1333.
