MIX Makeover Blog #2

I’ve officially started my 2nd week on the Aultman Weight Management New Outlook Program & am starting to get adjusted to my new diet of 1200 calories per day. My first week was definitely a challenging one. The hardest part so far was giving up my late night snacking (my favorite Andy Cap Hot Fries and Ice Cream). So, I kept in mind, that it’s mind over matter. I re-focused my thoughts on other things besides food..and the 1st night was pure torture. I remember what the dietician told me about when I was feeling hungry to drink water & that would fill me up. I doubted that until I actually tried it..and she was absolutely right. After a couple of nights, those snacking cravings amazingly fell off & I concentrated on drinking water in it’s place. So far, it seems to be working just fine. It took 2 days to get into the groove of eating 4x per day…At wake up time, I drink my 9 oz shake mix from Aultman (which has 200 calories in it). That, along with a bowl of oatmeal, gets me going & thru til lunchtime. Then at lunch, it’s a salad (w/ vinegarette dressing), & another 9 oz Aultman shake. Around the time I go on the air @ 3, It’s time for my “snack” time. Which I’ve been eating a 100 calorie French Vanilla Yogurt (its my fav yogurt so far), maybe some peanuts (for fat) and a fruit (it’s been btwn banana’s & apples this week). After work, a quick 30 minute workout (this past week it’s been walking, since I didn’t get my gym membership til Saturday). Followed by my 4 oz meat, which is either of grilled chicken or broiled fish, veggies, a baked potato and even more water). So far, that seems to be working for me…oh, that, and the fact that Im going to the bathroom like 800x a day (actually, it’s about 5-6 times, thx to go ole H20). As part of the Aultman Weight Management New Outlook Program, I have to attend weekly mtngs. I have my first one scheduled for this Thursday @ 9:30am; which will also be my first weigh in. Ill keep ya posted on how things are going. You can always check out daily updates on my Facebook page (and thru Mix 94.1’s Facebook page).
