My daughter Sarah wanted to look at Ithaca College & Cornell University. Ithaca Commons is a cool shopping & entertainment district where we had Thai food and killer Mexican at Viva! Later we went to scenic Taughannock Falls State Park along the shores of Cayuga Lake! Six hours away!
Route 2 is beautiful drive from Cleveland to Toledo...It's even better if Put-In-Bay is your destination. The Jet Express from Port Clinton to PIB is a sweet ride, even in gusty winds and driving rain as you'll see from the pics when Sunday's storm blew through. Frosty's is a must stop for some ice cold refreshment too...We dropped in just in time to see Kasey Kahne win at Pocono...Woo Hoo

Having grown up on Lake Erie, I love lake towns like Chicago and Toronto, and both have been favorite destinations of mine for years. In Toronto, they celebrated St. Patrick's Day all weekend. Sunday there was a parade and green was everywhere...We shopped our way up and down Yonge Street. Steve Jobs will be happy to learn that the busiest store we visited was the Apple Store. There wasn't a free MacBook or iPod station in the store. Customers were crowded in front of monitors and speakers everywhere...It was cold, but the food and drink warmed us plenty...Click on the pic to see some pics from the weekend.
