Boaters Are Up Close and Personal with Erupting Volcano

The Stromboli Island Volcano erupted yesterday off of Messina, Sicily. These people were out on a boat close to the island. I don’t know if they were just out for a nice day on the water and the volcano suddenly erupted or if they heard it could erupt and decided to get a close look. If it happened and they were surprised I would be heading back to a safe shore as fast as that boat could go! If they knew it was close to erupting….WHY WERE THEY THAT CLOSE????
