You know I’m not a fan of Thanksgiving food.  I don’t like roast turkey, stuffing, squash, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie or mincemeat pie.   That’s why I host my family that holiday!  I tell them they are welcome to come but they’re not getting any of the traditional food.  I always make lasagna, garlic bread and ice cream cake.  I do put ground turkey in my lasagna so that is my tip of the hat to Thanksgiving.  And my mom usually brings green bean casserole (which I love!).   I figure if I’m going to have leftovers after the meal it ought to be something I’ll actually eat.

But most people love all the Thanksgiving food!  When I tell people I don’t like any of it they usually look at me like I have 2 heads.   My friends are used to it now.  They just shake their heads and laugh.  That’s ok!  I don’t mind!  There was a survey just recently that asked people what their most hated Thanksgiving food is and I thought the results were a little surprising.

The #1 most hated food is cranberry sauce.  That was the winner by a lot!  Coming in at #2 was green bean casserole!  That one surprised me because, like I said, I love green bean casserole and can’t image Thanksgiving without it.  But I have found that green bean casserole is more of a midwest dish.  Rounding out the top #3 most hated Thanksgiving foods is sweet potatoes.  That also surprised me because most people I talk to LOVE sweet potatoes.  I just figured I was the odd person out when it came to them.  But apparently more people don’t like them.
