It’s Halloween, you are on a budget, and you need an idea for that party this weekend. But you don’t have an extra $50 lying around for a sexy version of <insert mundane thing here>. Don’t worry, boo! Sarah’s got you covered.

Some quick, easy ideas for costumes you can easily put together from thrift store finds!

Bandits!

All you need is a striped shirt, black pants, and a black hat of some kind. You can easily find a black paper mask at a local party store. Or! Just get some cheap black face paint and paint one on! Don’t forget your money bag. Get a pillow case, fill it with something light, tie it, and draw a big money sign on the front!

Audrey Hepburn!

Find a black dress, costume pearls, black gloves, and you can fashion a long fancy “cigarette” by rolling up a black piece of construction paper.

Silent Film Star!

Get all black clothes, and white face/body paint. Done!

Mary Poppins!

White blouse, black skirt, black stockings, heels, and a cute black derby hat. See if you can find a red bow tie and a little belt. Don’t forget the umbrella!

A Donut!

Keep on the look out for inner tubes! And some hair curlers to represent sprinkles. Grab a glue gun, and get creative!

Pineapple / Apple / Strawberry / Grape / Literally Any Fruit!

Get a color block dress that is the right color for the fruit you want to be. Grab yourself a head band, and some card stock paper, and your glue gun.  Fashion a stem out of paper, and attach it to said head band! Another idea? If you are able to find and fake fruit, you can get creative and make a necklace, or add it to the headband, or your dress!

Fortune Teller!

A cute, flowy blouse! Don’t forget a long hippie skirt. Then grab a scarf, and tie it around your head. Extra points if you can find a ton of beads to wear, and a fishbowl to act as your “magic ball.”

Bride and Groom!

There are usually some old school wedding dresses, or at least white dresses, at thrift stores, perfect for any DIY bride. As for a groom, grab yourself a suit! Feeling creative? Get some fake blood and rip up the fabric a bit to create the perfect zombie newlywed couple.

Farmer!

Plaid shirt, overalls. Maybe some work boots? Done!
