A runner riding the the train to the Chicago Marathon became a hero as he confronted and stopped a man with a gun robbing passengers. Jean Paul LaPierre asked why people were rushing off the train and someone told him there was a man robbing people so he got back on the train, faced the robber, took his gun away and then held him there until police arrived. Another passenger caught the whole thing on video.

La Pierre yelled at the robber, ‘I’m a boxer, I’ll break your head in one punch’. He was able to keep the man in one place until authorities arrived and arrested him. Another passenger said, ‘It was incredible to see because everyone else just sat there frozen’. The incident didn’t seem to have any lasting affects on LaPierre as, after the police took the robber into custody, he continued to the marathon and ran the race.
