A Houston, Texas teenager decided to forgo a big bash for her graduation and instead ordered 95 pizzas to host a party at a homeless shelter for women and children. In all, Leanne Carrasco and her friends fed around 200 people.
She and her friends had planned the party a month prior and managed to collect toothbrushes, hygiene wipes and more to deliver 400 hygiene bags to the shelter. Carrasco told CNN News she threw the party because “not a lot of people have the same options as me. There are a lot of people who need help. So I give it.” Carrasco plans to continue her giving spirit by studying to become a nurse in college this Fall.
