(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – A man is going away for a long time for a variety of violent offenses.

Kevin Carter, 26, of Akron, was sentenced to a total of 41 1/2 years in prison for felonious assault, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and other charges.

In July of 2018, Carter robbed a man at gunpoint in Akron, hit him with a gun, forced him to remove his clothes, tied him up and put him in the trunk of a car.

The victim managed to escape.

About a week later Carter shot a man who was walking down a street with his grandson.

Carter had an ongoing feud with the man’s adult grandson.

The judge overseeing the case also designated Carter to be a repeat violent offender.
