Medical Board Delays Decision On Adding Qualifying Conditions For Medicinal Pot

(ONN) – The State Medical Board of Ohio has delayed its decision on whether autism and anxiety should be qualifying conditions for medical marijuana.

A panel of physicians in May recommended that the medical board add the two conditions to the current list of 21 for which registered physicians can make a patient recommendation for medical marijuana use.

The board was expected to vote on Wednesday but the vote was tabled, the the board will decide at a later time.

The board on Wednesday voted down or rejected insomnia, depression and opioid use disorder as qualifying conditions.

Those categories had not been recommended by the panel of physicians.
