Ohio Group Wants Background Checks For All Gun Sales

(ONN) – Ohio voters will see an issue concerning background checks for gun sales on their ballots soon if a gun-control group has its way.

Ohioans for Gun Safety is proposing a ballot measure that would effectively require background checks for all gun sales done online and at gun shows.

The group is aiming to have the issue on the ballot by 2020.

The group cited a 2017 poll from the Pew Research Center that found that 77 percent of gun owners in the United States strongly or somewhat favor background checks for private gun sales and at gun shows.

A 2017 Gallup poll found that 96 percent of Americans support universal background checks.
