Sandusky to Make Election Day a Holiday, Drops Columbus Day

The city of Sandusky has decided they will consider Election Day a holiday from now on. They also decided they will no longer observe Columbus Day.This will go into effect this year. City Manager Eric Wobser said they decided to recognize Election Day as a holiday to motivate people to get out and vote. As for why they decided to nix Columbus Day, it’s mostly because of the controversy surrounding the day.
