The African Children’s Choir is composed of children ages 7 to 10, many of whom have lost parents through the devastation of war, famine and disease. The concert features children’s songs, spirituals and contemporary tunes, ethnic instrumentation and dance.
Over the past 20 years, the children’s choir has performed thousands of concerts around the world, including at the Pentagon, the United Nations and Royal Albert Hall in London.
The North American tour of the nonprofit group is to raise awareness of the needs of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued education and development programs.
