Woman Accused of Abandoning Blind, Deaf Dog in Walmart Parking Lot

A 15 year-old blind and deaf pug, named Agnes, was found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot in Walmart. Authorities believe the woman who committed the crime is Rita Swartz. Swartz claims she contacted multiple recuses in the area but no one would help her. The Medina County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says Swartz never contacted them, and that they first learned about Agnes after she had been abandoned. Agnes was found with a double ear infection, an eye in danger of rupturing, and multiple rotting teeth. She has since been adopted by foster parents, who are determined to have her live the rest of her days in comfort and love. Swartz pleaded guilty to abandoning animals, and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 30th.
