We’ve all had that vacation moment where a spot or hotel wasn’t quite what you imagined! While Airbnb usually has good deals with nice places to stay, you always run the risk of getting something less than stellar.

A Boston woman went on Airbnb to find a place to stay in New York City. She found an apartment for $90 a night. What she really got was $90 a night at a New York City Housing Authority complex in Chelsea. Subletting government subsidized housing is illegal. She said the apartment was highly rated on Airbnb. It smelled like gas and there was a roach trap next to the bed. While she said she sympathized with the hosts side hustle she reported them so she could get her money back.
