George Clooney: Meghan Markle Is Being “Pursued and Vilified and Chased in the Same Way That Diana Was”

George Clooney is speaking out in defense of Meghan Markle, Clooney says the Duchess of Sussex is being “pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was.”

Clooney spoke at a Television Critics Association conference in Pasadena, California, saying “history is repeating itself” and he made mention of the letter that Meghan wrote to her father that was published in The Mail on Sunday.

“You’re taking a letter from a daughter to a father and broadcasting it everywhere, She’s getting a raw deal there, it’s irresponsible…” In 2017 Prince William spoke about the paparazzi that followed his mother calling them “a pack of dogs” and saying “She was subjected to treatment that frankly nowadays people would find utterly appalling.”

What changes should be made to protect celebrities from being hurt, either mentally or physically by paparazzi?
