The Most Dramatic AirPod Subway Rescue

Dropping something on to the subway tracks is a really bad way to end your day. Especially when it’s one of your expensive AirPods and you were in the middle of tuning out your fellow commuters.

At first, Ashley Mayer was resigned to her situation. But after discovering that the wireless earbud remained over the side of the platform edge the next day, she launched a DIY rescue effort.  Not wanting to be “the first ever AirPod-related subway death,” as Mayer writes on her Twitter, she hit up the store for supplies.

Attaching duct tape to the bottom of a broom, Mayer was successful in reuniting the pair, noting one is now a little “filthy”. Fortunately, after charging, it still works.
