Disney CEO Bob Iger has laid down the gauntlet and said that his TV and film studios will likely leave Georgia if the state’s heartbeat abortion bill becomes law.
In an interview with Reuters, Iger goes on to say that it would be “very difficult” for them to remain in Georgia if the bill does, in fact, become law.
“I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard,” Iger continued. “Right now we are watching it very carefully.”
Disney’s ties to the state are strong. The company has filled it’s Avengers movies in the state as well as four Marvel TV series. Disney is the second Hollywood company to speak out about the issue of leaving the state.
