(ONN) – A man was arrested after police say he assaulted a family member and stole two urns filled with the cremated remains of relatives.

32-year-old Jermain Bais, of Akron, has been charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

Court records show a 43-year-old woman told police that Bais and two unknown men came to her home shortly after midnight on Monday.

Soon after she let the three men inside, Bais allegedly grabbed two vinyl boxes containing the ashes of the victim’s husband and her husband’s mother.

During the ensuing scuffle, one of the other two men pulled a handgun and told the victim and her son that if they called the police, they would be shot.
