A two-year-old girl who accidentally fell into a rhino exhibit at a Florida zoo will be okay, and the rhino will not be punished.
It happened Tuesday at the Brevard Zoo’s ‘Rhino Encounter’, when a toddler slipped through the fence and into the exhibit, where at least one rhino touched her with its snout.
The girl was quickly rescued but suffered an arm injury and was rushed to a hospital.
The zoo has suspended the Rhino Encounter for the time being, but says “The welfare of the rhinos was never compromised and they will not be ‘punished’ in any way”.
Are you afraid to take young children to the zoo? How would you react if your child wound up inside an exhibit?
